Introducing Conicalogical
2011 marked the first experience in brewing beer for two neighbors in Watertown, CT and from that Northern Brewing extract kit was born the first official beer for the newly formed Brass Hat Brewing operation, Largay IPA, named after the long gone brewing company that once was a staple in Waterbury, Connecticut. Largay was most famous for their Red Fox line of beer & ale, hence the references on our label. Results of this maiden voyage IPA were favorable and flavorable and this sparked more intense conversations with other friends that have pursued the passion of crafting fine beers.
This then marks the emergence of our little collective which will hopefully facilitate better brewing, more brewing, and collective tastings whenever possible to best celebrate our individual efforts. Conicalogical is a contrivance that refers to our conical best buddy, hops. These cone shaped wonders of nature are the magical fruit of great brews, particularly to those of us that have grown to crave the unique bitterness they deliver.
This website, born October 4, 2011, will serve as our common ground. Here's hoping it serves us well. Cheers!
